BRING YOUR DIFFERENCE

Application tips

First impressions are important.

Your application form will be your first opportunity to convince us you have the skills and experiences which make you a suitable candidate for the programme. Tell us what difference you can bring to British American Tobacco, and why you’re interested in the programme and the business area you’re applying for.

  • Fill out your application carefully. Make sure you spell check it.
  • Use relevant examples from your academic, working or social life when answering the questions.
  • Make sure your contact details are correct. Your telephone number and email address are our only way to contact you and if they’re wrong you could miss out!

At the interview

Be prepared

  • Review the answers you gave on the application - you may be asked to expand on them.
  • Make sure you have an understanding of our business and the particular area you’re interested in.

Be yourself

  • We say ‘Bring your Difference’ and we mean it. We want to hear about you as a person and what makes you tick.
  • Be honest and open about yourself - don’t just try and give us the answers you think we want to hear. Interviews are a two-way process so feel free to ask any questions at any stage.

Be calm

  • Think about your answers and give us your best answer - don’t worry about taking your time. Ask for a question to be repeated if you’re unclear about it.

Be real

  • We want to hear about your real life experiences whether in an academic, work, community or even social environment. Use the times in your life where you’ve taken on responsibilities or made real achievements to show us what you’ll bring to the company

Best of luck!
