Our leaf experts source the highest quality tobacco leaves from across the world, supplying it to our domestic operations in order to maintain blend consistency and taste for the consumer. They contribute significantly to the ongoing success and reputation of our brands as well as to the Group's drive for market leadership. Working in Leaf you will have the opportunity to manage thousands of small-scale farmers to grow quality tobaccos in the field, purchase tobacco and process blends to your customers’ specifications, ensure cigarette taste remains consistent through leaf blending and join a small team tasked with procuring more than 440,000 tonnes of tobacco from all over the world, worth hundreds of millions of dollars. And while an agronomy background is helpful, it is not essential as extensive training in tobacco will be provided.
Our product experts work closely with Leaf, Group Research & Development and Marketing, and have a fundamental role in order to support the business growth agenda through the development of superior quality products and relevant innovations in order to meet consumer expectations. They also contribute to our portfolio strategy development by translating local consumer insights into product development insights.
Product professionals are required to develop and maintain effective partnerships working across global boundaries whilst seeking to achieve a perfect balance between blending, cigarette design and process & technology. As product activities are dependent on solid core competencies based on the know-how of skilled and trained professionals, you will have the opportunity to develop a deep and unique knowledge and experience in the science of developing and assessing product.
Our supply chain professionals manage the supply network - across 49 factories serving 180 markets. They have the challenge of optimising our end-to-end supply chain through Planning, Procurement, Manufacturing and Logistics functions.
Our ambition to drive growth through innovations requires them to ensure supply of the highest quality products and manage the new product process across the supply chain, working in close partnership with colleagues in Marketing and End Markets to ensure delivery to promise.
