Your manager will play an important role in this, and, you will in turn play a key role in developing the careers of people reporting to you.

We place a high priority on development planning and our managers set stretching performance goals, which are regularly reviewed. The discussions focus not just on what you achieved, but how you achieved it and what you've learnt along the way.

All development opportunities are based on merit and may include assignments to different parts of a function, to a different function or to a different country.

We hold regular Talent Review Meetings which are attended by senior leaders, for all regions and functions around the world. These meetings aim to ensure that we have good succession plans in place that take account both of individuals' needs and of the future shape of the organisation.

And we encourage you to develop your skills and knowledge, learning from internal and external resources such as our Global Learning Zone —an an internal learning resource that is open to anyone within our company.
