ROLE POSITIONING AND OBJECTIVES

BAT seeks an experienced professional to join our Finance team as a Commercial Finance Assistant Manager in Bucharest. This pivotal role reports to the Commercial Finance Growth Manager and serves as an individual contributor with opportunities for managing self and others. The role's geographic scope primarily involves supporting business units/clusters in South Europe.

WHAT YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR

• Supporting Commercial Finance Growth Manager by providing high-quality financial information and advice to business units/cluster.
• Assisting with the development and implementation of practical procedures that ensure a high level of internal control exists both within the department and where appropriate within external parties working on our behalf e.g. suppliers, distributors and advertising agencies.
• Supporting the development of Pricing & Excise strategy by providing insights into the future Pricing & Excise landscape in terms of understanding the consumers perception of price and how that influences consumer brand choice, competitor strategy and competitive pricing tactics, and the potential actions of our partners (government and trade), competitors and illicit trade.
• Sharing insightful financial analysis, showing the financial implications of decisions and helping the business unit/cluster get approval for commercially viable business cases, budgets, and investment proposals.
• Building strong financial and commercial awareness within business units and challenging business managers to improve performance.
• Working with and supporting Country Managers to improve and streamline processes within each end market.
• Coordinate and ensure Marketing Investment targets are accurately reported, in line with Latest Estimation and targets allocated.

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

• Degree educated with partial professional qualification (CA/ACCA/CIMA/CPA/MBA)
• Relevant experience in a global FMCG or similar dynamic operating environment
• Experience in Commercial Finance is a must. Additional experience in Corporate Finance is also desirable and will be considered a plus
• Thorough understanding and knowledge of relevant finance tools and systems, i.e., SAP/BPC/BI
• Experience in financial analysis & planning and execution, performance metrics, project evaluation and commercial acumen
• Good Business/ Commercial understanding and curiosity
• Working well independently, proactive, initiative-taker, solution oriented
• Very good stakeholders’ engagement skills
• Knowledgeable in identifying risks and in implementing controls with a continuous improvement mindset
